As Per...

...This Country?

We're on that road to hell now. One where Habeas Corpus will be as quaint as the Geneva Convention, where us as Citizens can be detained, tortured, executed without a trial. Toss in a little re-designated torture and call it good night America. The only check we have on this all is the Supreme Court, and I for one really don't hold out much hope for them to hold this Administration back.

But we'll see.

Meanwhile enjoy the show.

The Redhead and I have a bet for which country will be hit first, Iran or Syria. A mocha's riding on it and man, it's gonna be sweet when I get it. Evident ally the "October Surprise" will either be an attack on Iran or Show Trials, but maybe the latter won't happen too soon. Besides, it ain't sexy enough and there's more razzle dazzle and bang for the buck with bombs and cruise missiles from the approaching attack fleet.

But back to losing our freedoms.

We have 3 years left under this Administration. Does ANYONE out there think that if given the wide swath of powers he's proposing he won't use them on, say, the Media? The NY Times? On Opposition Parties? On Protesters? On the ACLU?

Remember, if you're caught helping the enemy in ANY way. And this is an enemy that, let's face it again, really is ill defined and could include anyone out there.

Basically the enemy is anyone they'll designate as such.Period.

Fun, huh? Paranoid? Yes, yes I am.

I'll lay that same Mocha (large) that he will.

All it would have taken is, during the A.G. Gonzalez confirmation hearings is one Senator to suggest that Gonzalez be subjected to it. Just break out the Saran Wrap (Hey, product placement!) board, and straps and have them do it on live television...

...who we are as a nation.

Thursday Again...

...And the Velvet Freight Train Claims Another Brain...

I’m starting to hate this.

There are days when I go and do and I’m fine.

Tuesday wasn’t one of them.

And I can actually feel it coming. I can actually pinpoint the moment when it hit. Then the world drops out from under my feet, and all I can feel is unstoppable, total, primal fear.

Then it’s the ‘yips’, the ‘no’s’, the deep exhalations, the cold chills...

And all I can do is go to the office and draw, or ink, or color...

At least I can do that. All my might, all my soul and skin wants is to sleep, to avoid it all.

And so I know now, totally and completely, why people self medicate, why they try and escape with drink or drugs.

And yea, so far so good. Yesterday was swell. Today was better. I inked a panel-illustration for Reno Gabriel that’ll be part of the whole package for L.A. 

I’m feeling a bit like Bostonian swell’s Mrs Stuyvesant Fish’s servant back in the early 1900’s when she was learning to drive. She stated up her new Automobile, then put it in gear and promptly ran him over. She panicked and put the car in reverse, promptly running him over again, wherein she switched gears again and, yes, ran him over once more...

You get the gist.

Later, Mrs. Fish decided to drive around the grounds then proceeded through a stone wall, tearing out a clump of choice shrubbery and finally smashing into the steps of the house.

Maybe that the lesson. Try, try again. And if you're the hired help, step wayyy back. 

And This Cat - Dad Dilemma...

I’m more broken up about the illness of a cat than i am about my own father.

What is this?

I mean, who am I to have these priorities?

I mean, he’s my dad...

But I’ve spent more time with the cat...

But he’s a cat...

And he’s my dad...

Who wasn’t there...

I've spent more time with a walking rodent, with a mobile fur distributer. .

But comfort is comfort. Communication is communication...

Anyway, more of the conundrum later...
